The hometown crowd will get a good taste of The Patriots they way it has been for 50 years!
This October 20 mark your calendar for a Saturday to remember as the Blackbeard Festival
presents the hometown band that plays all your favorites. The Patriots Band will take the stage and
let the good times roll.
All the guys will be there including our keyboard producer and recording engineer Barney Conway. Barney
was very much a part of the Patriots back in the early days of the late 1960’s when he engineered the
recording of The Bands first record – “I Like The Way”, a single backed by the instrumental “Convenient Isolation”.
Thomas Peele will be on drums as always, Kenneth Holiday and brother Kevin Holiday on vocals and guitars, Ralph McNeil on bass
Kyle Whitford on guitar and vocals plus the Brass Brothers rounding out the soul and pop sound you know and love.
It all started just down the road in Plymouth and Bath was a main stop during the years that made The Patriots a local favorite.
Some of the great songs the Patriots play are all time favorites like
Get Ready— the Temptations huge hit. That song was later covered by Rare Earth for a hit again.
The Patriots bring it to life with full brass and vocals that will bring you back to the beach every time. Any beach music fans know that these classic songs are the bread and butter of shagging and dance moves that always appeal.
My Girl— another classic by the Tempting Temptations. Any Motown review will include this masterpiece. The Band plays this song with a sense of reverence for the days gone by, couples slow dancing in rhythm, and the well known melody that cuts through time and drifts away to bygone years.
The Patriots ride again. Coming to Blackbeard Tricentennial Festival in Bath North Carolina
October 20th 2018 the Patriots will take to the main stage.
Music will include the beach standard Thank You John, the subtle hint at back alley values that makes a hot night hotter,
the rollicking hit It’s alright original from Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions. Ask The Lonely, the Four Tops mainstay that set the standard in ballads and sends chills with it’s powerful rhythm and story of loss.
The Patriots Band features some of the pop tunes that helped define the 60’s as well.
Kind of a Drag, The Buckingham’s homage to the British music invasion is a surprise that delights with its throwback sound and quick trip down memory lane.
The Plymouth Patriots Red White and Blues Band brings pop, soul, and beach to the main stage for all to enjoy.
