The Patriots Band July 8th in Plymouth!

The Patriots Beach Music and Classic Soul perfom live in Plymouth July 8th 2023

Plymouth NC is where it all started for The Patriots Band. Beach music, classic soul, and top 4o hits of the day made the set lists for the many dances and shows.

The Patriots won the state battle of the bands at Reynold’s Coliseum in Raleigh in 1968. The band appeared on local TV shows as well as talent shows and dances in Eastern North and South Carolina, and Virginia.

After all these years, The Patriots still perform their own brand of Classic Soul and Beach.

Eastern North Carolina’s Beach Band Thru The Years.

If you’ve danced or moved to the beat of Beach Music in The Carolinas or Virginia, you’ve likely seen The Patriots. From UNC to Duke and State, The Patriots served as house band at “He’s Not Here” in Chapel Hill, “The Blue Surf” in Atlantic Beach and have performed at festivals and events all over the three states.

The Nags Head Seafood Festival, Myrtle Beach, Wrightsville Beach, Frat and Sorority parties on campuses all over. The Patriots Band made music for wedding receptions, class reunions, backyard parties, Festivals, dances, and after football Friday night dances.

Motown and Classic Soul with a Carolina flavor is Beach Music.

The Patriots name came about through inspiration from pop culture of the 60’s. Paul Revere and The Raiders, The Buckinghams were names that evoked imagery of uniformity and color. The Patriots easily fell into place as a name.

Let’s review some of their significant moments from the year 2022!

The Big Comeback

In April of 2022, The Patriots went back to playing live after the long break of the pandemic.

They started off by playing at The New Bern Country Club in a packed house.

Fans were thrilled to have the opportunity to see them live after so long. As always, they performed a fantastic set, with everyone dancing throughout the show.

Later, they elevated the Easter joy and festivities by playing at The Morehead City Country Club.

Not just that — kids ( both young and old) had the time of their lives by egg hunting in a fun way.

The audience tapped and danced the night away to iconic hits such as “More Today Than Yesterday,” “My Girl,” and “Knock On Wood,” among others. They played a memorable song for the kids — “Barefootin” kids took their shoes off and danced away to the music!

A Tragic Goodbye

On May 19, 2022, The Patriots bid a painful farewell to their beloved pal and band member, Stan White, who passed away due to heart failure. Stan loved and enjoyed playing and creating music with the band. He was a significant part of The Patriots — bringing the light in with his positivity. Stan made sure to keep his game up and constantly worked towards becoming better. The band honored Stan White by wearing a white hat to their performance.

The Patriots Family and Friends Tour

On the Memorial Weekend, the weather was perfect for a picnic — outdoorsy time.

The Patriots took advantage of this and had people shaggin’ at River Dunes Oriental, a serene sailing community.

The Patriots Family and Friends Tour continued to mark the occasion memorable by their exceptional performance. The band brought in the best of Beach and Classic Soul Music, celebrating and honoring the genre.

Having built a remarkable reputation over the years with performances that were defined as “simply stunning” and “unforgettable,” this new opportunity to entertain at such a prestigious event was one they could not deny.

They pulled out all the stops with their astonishing performance by playing musical hits like Never Found A Girl, More Today Than Yesterday, and Barefootin.

They mesmerized guests with their unique mix of class, grace, and high-energy showmanship, leaving attendees talking long after it was done.

With so much skill and style covered in one definitive performance, no wonder The Patriots are deemed to be among the most sought-after entertainment for special events.

A Definitive History

The Patriots, The Carolina’s beloved beach band, bring sunny vibes to the stage with their classic hits.

Playing crowd favorites like ‘Don’t Let The Green Grass Fool You’, Giving It Up For Your Love’, ‘Soul Man’, and ‘Midnight Hour’ — the iconic sound of Carolina Beach Music also known as shag resonates between each of their melodies.

Sad Goodbye to Our Good Friend and Band Member Stan White

The Patriots have been playing music for decades. We have had many musicians play in the band both as members and as guests.

When Stan White became a member of The Patriots, he was excited to be a part of something he was both familiar with and enjoyed.

Stan said he loved playing with The Patriots. He used to half joke that it’s what he was born to do!

Stan loved performing with the band. He was always positive, contributing his part to the overall bigger goal of enhancing each song, and Stan practiced to be sure he was on his game.

Stan White died of heart failure May 19, 2022.

Obituary

We miss him, honor him, and offer prayerful support to all his friends and family.

If you attend a Patriots performance and see any of us wearing a white hat. You can bet it’s a hat tip to our brother – Stan White.
